Established 30 years ago in Gauteng, Alta is the founder of Alta Kloppers & Associates, one of the leading dietetic practices in the country. Leading the team of dietitians at Alta Kloppers & Associates and experiencing the professional growth of each dietitian, is what Alta thoroughly enjoys doing daily.

Alta Kloppers completed a B Dietetics and Post- Graduate Diploma in Hospital Dietetics at the University of Pretoria as well as a MSc Dietetics from the University of the Free State. She is well-known and respected in the field of dietetics and a past member of the Executive Committee for the Association for Dietetics in South Africa (ADSA) as the portfolio holder for private practicing dietitians.

Alta has a passion for sharing her practical knowledge gained over three decades of clinical practice with fellow dietitians and other healthcare professionals and is regularly invited to present to dietitians at workshops and congresses.

In her daily practice, she has a special interest in the nutritional management of critically ill patients, patients with chronic kidney disease as well as that of infants and toddlers with feeding difficulties including food allergies. Alta recently completed the SOS approach to feeding training conference in Madrid, Spain where she gained valuable insights in the treatment of picky eaters and problem feeders. Having trained for and completed two Comrades marathons, Alta also thoroughly enjoys consulting long distance road runners. She believes that proper eating is just as important as physical training for success on race day. Finally, as an expert witness, Alta has extensive experience in compiling medico-legal reports.
