Larissa studied at North-West University, where she completed her BSc Dietetic degree in 2021. She completed her Community Service Year in 2022, at Tambo Memorial Hospital in Boksburg. Larissa joined Alta Kloppers & Associates in 2023. She is working as a registered dietitian in Alberton, where she sees outpatients in Medimix, and inpatients in Netcare Alberton Hospital.

It was during her experience in the intensive care units (ICU) that she developed a love for treating critically ill patients through therapeutic nutrition. She enjoys being part of the multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centred care.

Larissa also has a strong passion for managing nutrition in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), focusing on optimizing their nutritional status, slowing disease progression, and preventing or managing complications. Larissa also has a special interest in Diabetes Care. The more patients she consults living with diabetes, the more she learns and the more she loves working with these patients. Larissa has completed the Cardiovascular Diabetes Education (CDE) course, which helped her to gain critical foundational insights in this field.
