Maretha is a registered dietitian who joined the practice of Alta Kloppers and Associates in 2009. In 2015 Maretha completed her master’s degree focusing on body composition and the measures of adiposity amongst women, with the subsequent publishing of her research article in an international peer-reviewed scientific journal.

In 2021 she was promoted to an Associate in the practice. She is active as a clinical dietitian in the Netcare Alberton Hospital, providing patient consultations at the Medimix Renal Dialysis Unit, as well as consulting out-patients at the rooms at the Medimix.

Maretha has a special interest in Critical Care with treating patients in Trauma ICU. Her interests extend further to patients with kidney disease, liver disease, gastrointestinal conditions, and post-surgery treatment of these patients. Maretha also focuses on chronic diseases of lifestyle, including cardiovascular disease. She is enthusiastic about the positive impact that integrative and functional medical nutrition can have on overall health and the nutritional management of vegetarians and vegans. She believes in practicing and imparting innovative and evidence-based research and knowledge.

Maretha has 23 years of valuable experience in all fields of dietetics, and is dedicated to empower people to improve their health through optimal nutrition.
