Mariska completed her BSc Dietetics degree in 2018 through North-West University and went on to earn her MSc Dietetics degree at Nelson Mandela University in 2019. In 2023, Mariska joined Alta Kloppers & Associates and is currently based at Netcare Alberton Hospital, where she also consults at MediMix at New Market.

Mariska is a firm believer that knowledge is power, and through evidence-based nutrition counselling, she empowers her clients to make informed food choices, despite the overwhelming presence of pseudoscience in the media, particularly on social media. She enjoys guiding her clients and patients on their journey to rebuild a healthy relationship with food. Mariska is also passionate about the role of nutrition in disease prevention and achieving personal goals. She emphasizes the importance of mental health, believing that when we nurture our minds, our bodies will follow suit.

Mariska enjoys working with critically ill patients as well as outpatients. She has a special interest in gut health and weight loss and her approach is personalized, aiming to help individuals find balance and create a sustainable, healthy lifestyle. Additionally, Mariska has completed DNAlysis training and is equipped to interpret DNA tests, offering tailored interventions to support her patients in achieving their health goals.
